THE MELBOURNE CHORUS OF SWEET ADELINES
The Melbourne Chorus of Sweet Adelines is an award winning group of approx. 55 woman from all walks of life, and ages, the youngest is 15 and the oldest 80, who share a common passion for singing acappella, (unaccompanied), and four part harmony in the Barbershop style.
Melbourne Chorus love to perform and entertain, and have a great time doing it! With colourful costumes and lively choreography, they ensure any event is both a musical and visual feast, as they present songs from Broadway musicals, jazz and swing era, even rock songs, favourites from yester-year and today.
They have been competing and entertaining audiences around Australia for 25 years, and have accumulated an impressive array of trophies and awards, both locally and nationally. They represented Australia in 2006 at the International Sweet Adelines Competition in Las Vegas, and in 2008 again won the Australian National Championships. Sweet Adelines International is the largest group for women singers in the world.
