David Cotter
Melbourne, Australia
Cabaret has become David’s main performance vehicle and after a number of seasons at the original Mietta’s and the Night Cat with self-produced shows, he wrote and produced Dean’s Martini, which started as a cabaret performed at Chapel Off Chapel for a three-week run that extended to a five and-a-half month residency, late night Fridays and Saturdays. Whether with a piano, a trio, quartet, big band or backing tracks, Dean’s Martini will be sure to please no matter what the budget or the function brief. The show has performed in private, public and corporate functions, as well as arts festivals, including:
~ B# Big Band at Hamer Hall Melbourne Arts Centre
~ 2006 Commonwealth Games NAB Grand Hyatt Functions
~ Toyota Awards Night
~ Microsoft Conference Bangkok
~ BlueScope Steel
~ The Butterfly Club
~ Red Scooter
~ Southern Print Group Christmas Party
~ Middletons Christmas Function
~ Yarra Valley Water Awards Night
~ The Emirates Tent at the Melbourne Cup
In 1998, David wrote and produced 'Dean's Martini' as a cabaret roast of Dean Martin. The show ran for 6 months at Chapel off Chapel and also worked spasmodically for a couple of years at different venues around Melbourne. This resulted in corporate and private work from: the Emirates tent at the Melbourne Cup and at various arts festivals around the country. He was also invited to perform at the Microsoft Conference in Bangkok.
