John Lane has worked as a professional performer, for the past twenty five years, in just about every setting you could imagine!

This has included performances as a clown, acrobat, stilt-walker, musician, compere, tap-dancer, juggler, cabaret crooner, galah, policewoman, goal umpire, singing waiter, and Rex the Rooster.

As a character actor at corporate functions, a quick sample of his many impersonations includes ‘Reg’ from ‘On The Buses’ (for the opening of a new transit exchange), Albert Einstein at the new Melbourne Museum, the ghost of Sir Walter Burley Griffin, Sir Edmund Hilary at the old Exhibition Building, Carmen Miranda at Shed 14, ‘Ben Bowyang’ at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, ‘Private Doodah’ (an Aussie version of Radar from Mash fame) at Hamilton Island & the Grand Hyatt, ‘Flash Jack from Gundagai’ at Flinders Street Station for the Connex launch & at the opening of the Burnley Tunnel, and ‘Manuel’ (from Faulty Towers) at the Melbourne and Adelaide Hilton … among countless other crazy and fun-loving characters.

His gigs have taken him to outdoor festivals across Australia and in the USA, into mining towns, the best hotels, schools, campuses, meat-works, prisons, hospitals, parks and gardens, onto trams buses and trains, and even occasionally into theatres!
