Scott Hone
Scott Hone was introduced to Contemporary Circus at the 1997 National Contemporary Circus Festival on Stradbroke Island. His circus career was then temporarily post-poned in 1998 and 1999 when he taught High School Mathematics and Computing Studies in the small country town of Nimbin. Fortunately he was still able to perform and maintain his skills, becoming the National Five-Club Juggling champion at the 1999 National Circus Festival in Albury NSW.
In 1999 Scott juggled in the English National Ballet’s production of Swan Lake, performed in front of an audience of seven to twelve thousand people at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, and completed an advanced clowning class with Philippe Gaulier.
To the delight of his school students, Scott competed in the BMX flatland section of the 1999 X-treme games in Brisbane.
As a part of Spaghetti Circus Scott was honoured by being invited to perform his Crystal Ball and BMX Freestyle routines for the Russian World Champion Acrobatic troupe, More Than Dance.
Furthermore, Scott was invited to compete in the BMX Flatland section for the Summer X-treme games in 2000 and 2001.
Scott has completed a Diploma in Circus Arts at the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne. He specialised in Corde Lisse (Aerial Rope), Chinese Poles, Hoop Diving, and Contact Juggling (Crystal Ball Manipulation).
Scott is one of Circus Oz’s newest recruits and will be touring both nationally and internationally performing his solo BMX freestyle routine to the sounds of a gypsy violin.
