John O'May
John has worked in all areas of the entertainment industry encompassing musical theatre, cabaret, drama, opera, concerts, comedy, radio, writing and directing.
His musical theatre credits include: Godspell, The Twenties and All That Jazz, Evita, Seven Little Australians (which he also directed), HMS Pinafore, Crazy For You, The Merry Widow, A Little Night Music – for which he won the Green Room Award for Leading Male Performer, The Phantom of the Opera (in the roles of both M. Andre and M. Firmin) and Mamma Mia!
For The Production Company, John has played General Harrison Howell / Harry Trevor in Kiss Me, Kate ,Nicky Arnstein in Funny Girl and in 2011 Elisha Whitney in Anything Goes and Dr. Norman Vincent Peale in Grey Gardens
John has also worked extensively with the Melbourne and Sydney Theatre companies. His TV and film credits include A Heartbeat Away, City Homicide, The Games, Carson’s Law, Between Wars and Starstruck.
He has won a two Green Room Awards for A Little Night Music and Three Vile Men.
John’s solo album, Unusual Way was voted “Top Ten Albums of 2000” by both The Age and Herald Sun.
